Our loving mother, Mary Anne Kargol (née Keck), passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was 75 years old.

Mary was born on September 12, 1948, in Schofield, Wisconsin, to Alice E. Buska, age 24, and John Edmund Keck, age 42. On November 5, 1966, she married James Joseph Kargol Sr. in Rothschild, Wisconsin. Together, they lovingly raised ten children over 18 years before divorcing in 1986. As a dedicated mother, Mary was a stay-at-home mom who was deeply involved in her children’s lives and even took on the role of teaching most of them at home.

Mary cherished her church family, her neighbors, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She had a passion for working in her garden and growing plants indoors, nurturing life in every corner of her home. Mary could often be seen sitting on her favorite seat on the front porch, waving and smiling at neighbors and passersby. She deeply loved her community and took joy in the simple pleasures of life, always sharing a warm smile with those around her.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the Milwaukee community, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Mary deeply cared about her neighborhood and community, always putting others first.

Mary is survived by her ten children, 29 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her three living siblings: younger sisters Kris and Lisa, and her older brother, Jack. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edmund Keck and Alice E. Buska; her brother, Bernard Keck; her sister, Dianne Trull; her half-sister, Carol Jean Smelcer; and her grandson, Toby Benjamin Kipp.

Visitation to be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Funeral Service to follow.
