Mary “Fran” Frances Hawkins

(Nee Hester) Passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 at age 84. She was reunited with her husband Walter Hawkins of 60 years. Loving mother of Kathy (Matthew) Mullen and Walter (Terri) Hawkins. Proud grandmother of Sean Mullen, Patrick Mullen, Megan Hawkins, Kelly Hawkins and Kate Hawkins. Dear sister of Catherine “Kay” Hester. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Preceded in death by her brother Jack Hester and her parents John and Noreen Hester.

Fran was born and raised in Chicago and also lived in Joliet, Illinois. She resided in Wisconsin for the last 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and traveling. Fran was a devoted church member and volunteer. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. Spending time with family and friends gave Fran great joy.

The family would like to thank caregiver Cindy Widby, the staff at Dickson Hollow, especially Sylvia Kosidowski, and Season’s Hospice for their care and support of Fran.

Visitation at Our Lady of the Ridge Catholic Church, 108^th and Oxford Avenue, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415, on Saturday, September 7 at 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
