Age 83. Passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008, following a nine-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born May 4, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, to Charles and Ruth (Frederick) Lueck. She married Charles S. Crouse on May 29, 1954, in Des Plaines, Illinois. Mary graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and went on to earn her Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was an instructor in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing at Fox Valley Technical Institute in Appleton, Wisconsin. She was a 61-year life member of the American Association of University Women. She was past President of the Appleton branch, and most recently belonged to the West Suburban Milwaukee branch. She also served as Recording Secretary of the Wisconsin Division of AAUW. She belonged to Brookfield Congregational United Church of Christ and Blue Mound Golf and Country Club. Mary's affiliations included Golden Rule Chapter No. 194 Order of the Eastern Star, Acadia Chapter No. 269 Order of the Easter Star, Shelometh Temple No. 106 Daughters of the Nile and Tripoli Women's Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Laura Crouse, Wauwatosa and Carol Hudson, Wauwatosa; four grandchildren, Katharine Hudson, Madison, Lesley Hudson, Boone, North Carolina, Emma Hudson, Wauwatosa, and Benjamin Hudson, Wauwatosa. She is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Charles H. Lueck, Jr. Visitation will be at Brookfield Congregational United Church of Christ, 16350 Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, from 3:00-5:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2008, with Funeral Service at 5:00 PM. Entombment Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Tripoli Temple, 3000 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53208.
