Watch TributeMary Bernadette Grant passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frank and Antonia Balestrieri on April 11, 1929. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jerome and Joseph, and a baby sister. Mary was the loving wife of Randall J. Grant for 65 years, who passed away in 2016. Mary is survived by her loving daughter Diane M. Cornell and three cherished granddaughters; Kyla Klein (Phillip Kaplan), Melissa Klein (John Watterberg) and Caitlin Klein (Quoctrung Bui). Also survived by five great-grandchildren, Malcom and Asha Kaplan; Robbyn and Ember Watterberg; and Bruce Kai Bui.
Mary was a talented seamstress and worked making bridal dresses. Later on in her career she made custom draperies for the Klode company. Her last job was working at Bride’s Fashions as a fitter and alterations specialist. Mary also delighted in making many dozens of Italian cookies for weddings and holidays.
Mary and Randy enjoyed traveling with friends and family. They also had a trailer at a mobile home park near West Bend for several years, and had many friends. Mary and Randy spent many winters in Fort Myers FL where Diane and William lived in winter.
Mary was a resident of St Anne’s Salvatorian Campus for five years. We want to thank the care givers at St Anne’s that cared so kindly for mom during her stay, and especially during the past year. Also many thanks to Common Heart Hospice for their care.
Visitation will be held at Mother of Good Counsel Church at 6924 West Lisbon Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:30 AM, followed by Mass at 12:30 PM.
