Watch TributeMarvin V. Christianson of West Allis entered into eternal life on June 15, 2024, his 94th birthday. He died surrounded by his loving extended family. Marvin was born on June 15, 1930, in Wind Lake, WI, to Victor and Amy Christianson. He was a life-long resident of the Milwaukee area.
Marvin was a graduate of Saint Olaf College in Northfield, MN. After college, he served in the US Army Signal Corps in the Korean War. Marvin was an architect and spent more than 50 years with the Zimmerman Design Group in Milwaukee, first as an architect, then as a principal, and finally as a consultant. He loved his profession and did not completely retire from Zimmerman until age 87. He was a lifetime member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
Marvin married Jean Ruetz on November 7, 1959. They were married for 61 years, until she preceded him in death in 2021. He is survived by two sons: Paul Christianson (Lee Ann) of Lenexa KS, and Scott Christianson (Jane) of Cedarburg. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Brett Christianson (Shannon), Donald Christianson (Rachel), Greta Christianson (Jacob), and Alan Christianson (Abby), as well as one great-grandchild, Emmett.
Marvin was a Studebaker enthusiast and enjoyed driving his 1963 GT Hawk. He also enjoyed gardening and the company of his loving and supporting community of friends. He was especially proud of the family home in West Allis, which he designed himself.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin from 10:30 PM until the time of Service at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow at Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery.
