Martin Thomas Jannsen passed away at the age of 76 years old on Saturday (January 23, 2016) in Green Valley, Arizona. Born in Clinton, Iowa to Thomas and Margaret Jannsen, Martin met his wife, JoLene, in early childhood where they shared 58 years of marriage together. Jannsen was a United States Air Force veteran who founded Jannsen and Company in 1975 and was active in the firm as a Certified Public Accountant until May 2014. Other interests included collecting toy tractors, trucks, and more. He also loved driving his Model A and '62 T-Bird.
People who knew Jannsen will always remember him for his daily enthusiasm, joke telling, and small world stories. They will also remember his commitment to serve others. Jannsen was a part of numerous organizations including Boy Scouts of America, CPAmerica International, Model A Club, and was actively involved with the Republican Party of Wisconsin. In addition, he was active in research and studies for people with diabetes. He lived with type 1 diabetes mellitus for 55 years, which eventually forced amputation of both legs.
Jannsen is survived by his wife; JoLene, sons; Thomas and Terrill, daughter Kristi, and daughter in-laws Carolyn and Lisa, and son in-law, Shawn. He also was the proud grandfather of Justin, Taylor, Jalissa, Katrina, Kelsey, Thomas, Sarah, and the great grandfather of Aria.
