Margaret Gray, 91, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away May 4, 2024. She was born June 4, 1932, in Jefferson County, Indiana, one of eight children of Albert and Callamatta Ditzler Manaugh. Margaret Gray, 91, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, passed away May 4, 2024. She was born June 4, 1932, in Jefferson County, Indiana, one of eight children of Albert and Callamatta Ditzler Manaugh.
Margaret was a 1950 graduate of Hanover High School in Hanover, Indiana. In 1952, she moved to Connersville, Indiana. Over her years in Connersville, she was employed at American Kitchens, Dresser Industries, and Connersville Junior High School, where she worked for more than 20 years, retiring in 1994. For more than 50 years, Margaret was an active member of Grace Community Church.
On September 13, 1963, Margaret was married to Harold Gray. They have two children, Ellen (Jeff) Mass, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and Tim (Katie) Gray, of Hugo, Minnesota. Margaret is survived by her children; her grandchildren, Jackson Gray of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Tatum Gray of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Brianna Mass and Emme Mass of Brookfield, Wisconsin; two sisters, Marilyn Kleopfer of Madison, Indiana, and Karen Todd of Hanover, Indiana; a brother, Robert (Therese) Manaugh of Brandon, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Lydia Manaugh of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Charlene Manaugh of Madison, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Jim Manaugh, Dick Manaugh, and Jack Manaugh; a sister, Linda Adams; two brothers-in-law, Dutch Kleopfer and Melvin Adams; a sister-in-law, Elaine “Cookie” Manaugh; two nephews, Dean Manaugh and Skip Manaugh; and a niece, Pam Alexander.
The family would like to express gratitude to Margaret’s wonderful caretakers at Lakewood Memory Care in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Their love and expertise was evident throughout the months they cared for her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024, (Visitation 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM) at Grace Community Church, 2836 Indiana Avenue, Connersville, Indiana, 47331.
