Lynn was such a great neighbor to me. As a kid growing up, she was such a great influence and role model for me. She was very encouraging with my education endeavors and we spent a lot of time together when I would help with landscaping and gardening. I still remember, when I was real young, the years she would smile as she watched her mom Mrs. Butenhoff hand out candy to us and the other neighbor kids during Halloween for Trick or Treat. Her love for history especially Milwaukee, Wisconsin and US history she shown proudly both around her home and with her impressive knowledge. I also credit her to giving me a strong appreciation and interested in genealogy. Her influence I was able to get a fair amount of genealogy research about my own ancestors done with several of my relatives that are no longer with us. I hope Lynn rests in peace knowing the number of people she has touched or influenced in the past, present and in the future through her love of education and dedication to helping others. The number of selfless acts she has done behind the scenes to better others shows true character to how much of a loving person she was. I have so many memories that I definitely will cherish. There will never be a neighbor as nurturing as her that can take her place in my heart. Thank you Lynn!

I enjoyed many years of working with Lynn Butenhoff when she was the Guidance Director at Custer HS. She made a contribution to the development of our program in that era, especially in the development of high school guidance curriculum. May she rest in peace. So sorry to hear of Lynn’s passing. I enjoyed her friendship since my days at Custer High School where Lynn was a guidance counselor. I admired her love of family history and her helping out the cemetery in Hartford to identify names on old tombstones. She did an amazing job writing her family’s history. She was a great help to me as I looked up my family history, Rest in peace dear friend.

We lived next to Lynn for over 36 years and became good friends. She was a very rare and unique woman! She was small in stature but her spine was forged in steel. Lynn's mind was as sharp as they come writting two books. She was more organized than an accountants ledger. Her great secret was her heart was as soft as a rose pedal. She was a big advocate for education and love her backyard. She was a good friend to my wife and we will miss her. Go with God Lynn!
