Lyle Dennis (Denny) Boneck, 84, of West Allis, was called home by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully on December 25, 2022, with his immediate family at his side.
Denny was born August 1, 1938, to Lloyd and Agnes (Schinko) Boneck in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1956. On August 2, 1958, Denny married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Forman, in West Allis, where they spent their entire 64 years of married life together. From 1959 through 1963, Denny and Marilyn had four children, Brett, Cheryl, Barry and Ruth.
During his multi-faceted career, Denny was a well-known jazz and polka musician. He played with world renowned musicians and dear friends Kenny Kotwitz, Frank Yankovic and Chuck Hedges (to name a few).
Denny, his dad, Lloyd, and his brother, Gary, formed Boneck & Boneck Construction as mason concrete specialists in the 1960’s. In the late 70’s, Denny, along with sons Brett and Barry, created Boneck’s Professional Pool Builders (Wales, WI), still going strong today. Denny retired from day to day work in 2008 but remained VP of Boneck’s Pro Pools until Christmas day, 2022.
Denny enjoyed traveling, good music, boating, deer hunting, snowmobiling, their Saturday night steak nights and he loved his golf. Thanks to Marilyn’s work as a travel agent for nearly 30 years, they went on some epic adventures around the world. He played golf with his family and friends at some of the most revered courses and resorts in the USA.
In his younger years, Denny served in the Air National Guard. In the last years of Denny’s life, you never saw him without his red MAGA hat. He was a true believer in God and Country.
Although he will be sorely missed by his loving wife Marilyn and all of his children, Brett (Eva); Cheryl (Mark) Miller; Barry (Elly); Ruth (Joe) Smessaert, they know, without a doubt, they will be reunited with him again in Heaven … in His time (John 14:1-6).
Denny was a loving grandfather, aka “Bud,” to Emma, Grace and Henry Smessaert and Stacy, Jesse (Jenna) Miller. Denny is also survived by his brothers Lloyd and Gary Boneck, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Neal (Pinky) and his mother, Agnes, and father, Lloyd Sr.
The family is honored to report Denny finished his race with a humble heart and a joyful spirit. Stay of good cheer!
The entire Boneck and extended families gratefully acknowledge all of Lyle’s caregivers but send an extra special thank you to Michelle and Alexis. We couldn’t have done it without you.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin. Visitation at 1:00 PM. Service at 3:00 PM. Private interment.
