Leone E. Zaffrann

(Nee Konicke) Was reunited with her beloved husband, Al on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the age of 86. Dear mother of Ron (Kathy), Craig (Celeste), Larry (Lynn), Jim (Sharon) and Annie. Loving grandma of Dan (Melissa), Dave (Andrea), Katie, Stephen, Deanna, Tom (Meredith) and Robert. Proud great-grandma of Sam, Ben, Josh and Max. Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Clara Konicke, and dear sisters, Eleanor (Al) Musolf and Grace (John) Zylka. Together with Al, her husband of over 60 years, they raised 5 children in the Catholic faith. Leone was President of Christian Mothers while Al was President of The Holy Name Society at St. Ignatius. She sang on church choirs for 75 years. An accomplished accordion and key board player, talented seamstress, outstanding cook, especially appreciated for sour cream coffee cake, jimmy cake and chili. Leone and Al had a passion for dancing the jitterbug, polka and square dancing. She was an avid writer of poems and short stories and a great solver of crossword puzzles. Lee and Al returned to Milwaukee in 2007, after 24 years of retirement in Kerrville, Texas. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, October 8, 4:00-7:00 PM with a vigil service at 6:30 PM. Visitation at HOLY APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16000 West National Avenue, Saturday, October 9, 8:30-9:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. Burial to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
