Passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010, age 94. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Adine and his son David. Survived by his son Jim (Kitty) Mead, daughter Diane Mead (Dottie Outland), grandson James Mead, and granddaughter Jennie (Brian) Quinn. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, January 22, 10AM-12 noon, Funeral service 12 noon. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with full Military Honors. Leonard was a proud Army verteran of WWII serving at Okinawa and the battle of Leyte Gulf. He retired from AO Smith in 1978, after 31 years of service, and was a member of the Smith Steel Worker DALU #19806. After his retirement, he moved to his beloved Northwoods with his wife and enjoyed 16 years at the Hiawatha Park in Arbor Vitae before returning to Milwaukee. A special thanks to the nurses and care givers at VITAS inpatient, third floor Lutheran home for their extraordinary care of Lenny.
