Kellermann, Lenora Caroline “Lee” (nee Champion) was born into eternal life on October 3rd, at the age of 97. Lee’s life began in 1927 in the era of the Great Depression. Lee was the child of Viola and Percy Champion. Along with Lee’s sister, Lois, they resided in Milwaukee. Lee spoke fondly of her childhood memories, playing softball and spending time with her family. At the age of 20, Lee met her soulmate, Warren Kellermann. They met through a mutual baseball coach. They were married and had 58 wonderful years together.
They both played an active role in all the children’s lives. Their greatest love was their grandchildren and later great grandchildren. Their second love started when their son, Ned, started Speed Skating
for the West Allis Speed Skating club. For the next 40 years, each winter was spent volunteering at the Olympic Ice Rink and later the Petitt Ice Center. They were the chief timers for all the events, local, national and international.
Lee had a profound impact on all of her grandchildren’s lives. Her favorite quote to the kids was “Be Patient, Remain Calm, Maintain your dignity”.
Lee loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her dogs, sewing, the Milwaukee Brewers and Marquette Basketball.
Lee is the cherished mother of Terry (Jim) Lewandowski, Nicki Hein, Ned (Susan) Kellermann. Grandmother “RIN” to Matthew (Amy) Gerber, Adam (Jennifer) Gerber, Aaron (Carey) Gerber, Dean (Angie) Pipito, and Maggie (Zach) Nelson, Aunt to Ross (Linda) Hart, Great Aunt to Sara and Amanda Hart. We would like to thank the staff at Heritage at Deer Creek, New Berlin and Brighton Hospice Care. They took wonderful care of Lee for the last few years of her life. She loved the conversations and friendship with each of the staff. I am sure they will miss the chocolate treats she always had on hand for you.
