(nee Read) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at age 55 after a courageous battle against Cancer. Beloved soulmate of John for 28 years. Thoughtful and warmhearted daughter of Sarah (nee Miller) and the late Richard E. Read Sr. Loving "Sis" of Mike Read and Richard Read Jr. Dear sister-in-law of Donna (Jim Griffin) Friday, Dave (Nancy) Repinski, Sandy Repinski and Matt (Tammy Maeder) Repinski. Kind niece of Sister Julie Parlow and Jenny (Ronnie) Bees. Further survived and will be missed by additional family and friends.
Karen was a dedicated employee of Brady Corporation for 25 years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, spending time with family and friends and spoiling them with homemade brownies. She was also known to use the word "Dumb Ass" on a regular basis when called for. She loved her devoted, but sassy cat Maggie as well.
The family wishes to thank the Elmbrook Hospital Cancer Center and the Wheaton Fransciscan Hospice staff for their care of Karen.
