Kalavanti Shah

Girish and Prakash Shah's mother has passed away. Born Kalavanti Devkaran Shah, she attained eternal love and peace in her sleep during the early hours of September 30, 2013, at the age of 76. She was born in Coimbatore, India to her late father Devkaranbhai, and late mother Saraswatiben. She grew up in both Karachi and Calicut, India. She married her late husband Dhirajlal Budhichand Shah in 1957 and lived in Ethiopia, until her husband passed away in 1999. Since then, she alternated between her son's homes in Brookfield and Kenosha.

She was a kind, affectionate, and gracious person with a smiling face. She was a practicing Jain and found a lot of peace in her spiritual activities. Kalavantiben is survived by her 2 sons, Girish and Prakash, and her 2 daughter-in-laws, Sonal and Sona. She was a loving grandmother to Rishi, Megha, Sachin, Aakash, Ravi, and Saager. She also leaves behind her three brothers (Javerlalbhai, Lehrikantbhai, Narendrabhai) and one sister (Vidhyaben), all currently residing in India.

A memorial service will be held at the Krause Funeral Home at 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53072 on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 PM. We will inform you should any changes occur. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Kalaben's name to the Jain Temple of Wisconsin, or your favorite charity.
