Judith J. Allen

(Nee Mellies) With her husband by her side, passed peacefully from her home in Waukesha, WI, to our Father's home in Heaven on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, age 69. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sally (nee Banker) Mellies. She is survived by her husband John S Allen, daughters Julie Allen with grandsons Timothy and Matthew Peplinski, and Jodie (David) Gentz; sister-in-law, Chris (Mike) Trollinger and brothers-in-law, Glenn (Eileen) and George Allen; along with cousins, nephews and many good friends. While Judy was always a very active member of her community, she especially cherished her times working as a secretary at West Allis Central High School and Lincoln Elementary School in West Allis. She felt that she had semi-retired after becoming a travel agent for Crossroads/All-Inclusive Vacations after leaving the school district. Judy and John had many wonderful travels together along with the traveling bird. The family would also like to extend their sincere thanks for the many friendships made and incredible care given through these past few years by the Froedtert Cancer Center, especially the doctors, nurses and caregivers of the day hospital along with 4NT, 4NW and the BMT Unit. It would have been a much more difficult journey these past 3 years without all of you. Donations to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society in lieu of flowers are appreciated. A Mass of Remembrance (for which vacation or golf attire are appropriate) will be held on Tuesday, November 9, at 5:00 PM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 225 South Hartwell, Waukesha, WI, (262) 547-6555. A social for family and friends will follow mass in the church's community room.
