Light lunch reception will follow the service.Montie was a 1951 graduate of Laguna High School in Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines and earned his medical degree in 1957 from Far Eastern University, Manila. He came to the U.S. in 1958, first as a medical intern in Chicago and then as intern/resident at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, followed by a post as chief surgical resident at Regina General Hospital, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a fellow of the American Society of Abdominal Surgeons. Throughout his career as a general practitioner/abdominal surgeon he had offices at 44th and Capitol Drive, in Family Hospital and in the Bockl Building, and he was vice chief of staff at St. Anthony's Family Medical Center. He was a partner in the Medical-Surgical Clinic on Lincoln Avenue. Toward the end of his career, Montie was one of the founding physicians at the Aurora Occupational Health Clinic at Mayfair. He was heavily involved in philanthropic organizations, and was past president, chair, and societal member of the Rizal-MacArthur Foundation and the Filipino American Medical Association and was a member of the Filipino American Association of Wisconsin. Montie was a faith-filled man and was a long time member of both St. Timothy's and St. Francis' Episcopal Churches, where he was involved as a vestry member, senior warden, search committee member, and he enjoyed his weekly men's bible study. He was rector of Milwaukee Anglican Cursillo #52. Montie liked to play tennis, work in the yard, spend time with his grandchildren and organize the annual family outing to Brewer games. He will be remembered for his incredible generosity and unique sense of humor. Special thanks to the staff at St. Luke's Cancer Clinic and Aurora VNA Hospice who cared for him and his family. A special recognition to all his friends and family who provided loving support throughout this journey.
