Passed July 18, 2015. Age 85. Husband of Rosa Elia. Father of Rosa (Bob) Bowring, Joe Jr. (the late Lois), Nina (Ray) Shannon, Richie, Janie (Michael) Lewis, Gloria Schulz, Linda (Steve) Ludwig, Daniel (Angie), Israel (Greta), and the late Rudy. Grandpa of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Jose was a jack-of-all-trades. He went from being an amateur boxer to a migrant worker, to a logger to a butcher, to railroad worker, diver, cleaner of ships, to a welder, and a DJ. Jose also was an employee of Miller Coors for 20 years. He retired with his wife in Del Rio, TX for 15 years. Within that time, he and Rosa fulfilled their lifelong dream of travelling to Europe. Five years ago, they returned to Milwaukee to be closer to their family. He loved music, dancing, and collecting Cadillacs.

Visitation at the Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin on Thursday, July 23, at 3:00-7:00 PM. Additional visitation on Friday at 11-11:45 AM. Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
