John J. Weishan, 88, of Mequon WI, passed away at home on November 16, 2020. after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
John is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary. Other immediate family include his daughters, Judy (Jeff) Gauvin of Goodyear, AZ, Barb (Bill) Dolan of Arvada, CO, sons Jim (Debbie) Weishan of Stevens Point, WI, Dennis (Sue) Weishan of Grafton, WI, Matthew (Judy) Weishan of Beaver Dam, WI, brother Robert, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
John was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 3, 1932, to Eugene and Lilian Weishan. He graduated from St John’s Cathedral High School in 1950. After completing two years of college he entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. When he completed his military service, John became a salesman for Nelson Brothers Furniture where he was employed for over 30 years. John loved the Packers, Badgers, and sports in general. He enjoyed fishing and relaxing with Mary and other family and friends; watching a beautiful sunset; and marveling at emerging storm clouds. John was much loved and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend a particular thank you to the staff at The Wright House and Aurora Home Hospice for their excellent care of John during his last years. John will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery following a private funeral service.
John was an advocate of continuous learning and tutored students in English in his retirement.
