Age 92, of New Berlin, passed on January 11, 2011. Loving father of Mark (Maureen) and John T. (Patty). Also survived by special companion, Fran Loomer, her children, grandchildren and numerous other friends and relatives. John was preceded in death by Sophie Marie, his wife of 40 years.Memorial Gathering at HOLY APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16000 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Saturday, January 15, 12:30 " 2:00PM. Memorial Mass at 2:00PM. John graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee in 1936. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943-1946 and was a WWII American Legion honored veteran. Upon his return, he graduated with an education degree from Marquette University and began his teaching and coaching career of over 30 years at Juneau High School in Milwaukee Public Schools. During his coaching career, he was the first coach in the state of Wisconsin to achieve 300 victories. John also earned two Masters degrees, one from Marquette University and one from University of Wisconsin-Madison.John was elected to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1980 and the Old Time Ball Players Association of Wisconsin Hall of Fame in 2000. He was a member of Holy Apostles for over 50 years. Memorials appreciated to the Old Time Ball Players Scholarship Fund.
