John Hartinger was born on August 6, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived in the city for most of his 62 years, save for a few months in Nebraska in his early 20s. He attended John Marshall High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for a short time before joining the work force in various positions that took advantage of his aptitude for electrical and technical processes, eventually moving into the role of electronic technician at Danfoss Drives. He spent over 32 years at Danfoss until forced onto disability with a nasopharyngeal cancer diagnosis in 2022.
John had a deep appreciation for music and art and spent many weekends at music and art events, often with his parents and sister, and later his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing the guitar and collecting pens, and had a love of vintage automobiles. He was quiet and didn’t share a lot about himself, except with his closest circle of family and friends. He suffered with cancer and the associated treatments, which were not easy, yet when all the chemo and radiation were over, the cancer had spread. He will be missed by his sister Ann Graf, and his nieces and nephews, Laura, Sam, Sarah, and Gibby Graf, as well as extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Barbara Hartinger.
