Joan Margaret Ansay Rogers, 86, of Glendale, WI passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018 surrounded by her beloved family.
Joan leaves behind her husband, Bruce Rogers, and three loving children, Glenna (Bradley) Brin, Ronald (Paula) Ansay and Sharon (Peter) Williams; Eight beloved grandchildren, Tiffany, Timothy, Kenlyn, Emily, James, Morgan, Andrew, Matthew; Five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by one sister, Shirley Philipp, one sister-in-law, Esther Hartig, many loving nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
Born Joan Margaret Hartig, in Wausau, WI on November 5, 1931, she was one of 12 children to Max & Martha Hartig. During her first marriage, Joan’s early life took her to many places around the world as a military wife and mother. In 1968, the family settled in Beaver Dam, where she remained for many years. During this time she was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beaver Dam Branch. In 2009, Joan met and married Bruce and moved to Cedar Falls, IA where she happily created a warm home for the active couple. A few years later, Joan and Bruce relocated back to Glendale, Wisconsin to be closer to family. Always a skilled seamstress and homemaker, she was famous for the aprons she would sew from scraps of fabric, into sturdy, functional implements of service. Joan’s service to others and her love of Jesus Christ were the true hallmarks of her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of her faith and her boundless energy. The family wishes to thank the staff of Horizon Home Care & Hospice services for their tender end of life care.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 20, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 9904 West Calumet Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM. Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.
