Born to eternal life, Tuesday July 8, 2014. Age 83. Beloved wife of the late Dominic "Dom". Loving mother of Debbie (Bernie) McCarthy and Daniel Mastrocola. Loved grandma of B.J. (Jen), Chrissy (Jeff) and Caitlin (Aaron). Fantastic great-grandma of Liam. Also loved by other relatives and friends.

Joan (Callahan) Mastrocola attended Story Elementary School and went on to graduate from Rufus King High School where she was on the honor roll. Joan worked several jobs after high school before setting down roots at the UAW Local 75 office for nearly 30 years. Joan found the love of her life in Dominic Mastrocola and they married February 27, 1954. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage until Dominic passed away in 2001. Joan and Dom had two children, Debbie (Bernie) McCarthy and Danny Mastrocola. They were proud grandparents of three, B.J. (Jen), Chrissy (Jeff), Caitlin (Aaron), and great grandparents to Liam.
In Joan's early years, she would go downtown and dance at the Rooftop and roller skate. She also liked to go on trips to play Bingo and Slot machines at Potawatomi and sometimes going to Las Vegas. She also bowled at the Elks Club for about 30 years and belonged to the Elks Women's Club. Joan liked to watch Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal. But, her most favorite past time was getting together with family for special holidays, having lots of food, and playing games.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Dominic, Brother Jack, Sister's Margaret, Bea, Delores and Marcy.
Joan will be greatly missed by family and friends.
