Jim Skelton left a message on December 15, 2022:
Dear Jane and Family. I am very sorry to hear about Jim’s death. I knew him from Edgewood HS and St. Norbert College. He would give me rides up to the college from Madison. I believe we were in the same fraternity and also lived on the same floor at St. Norbert’s. I always thought of him as a real nice guy and was glad to see him at a HS class reunion a few years ago. He will be truly missed.

John P. Schmitt left a message on October 4, 2022:
I had the pleasure of knowing Jim in his collegiate years when we were playing club soccer (not hockey, though) at St. Norbert College. We may not have won a lot but we enjoyed good companionship while losing. We also shared similar views on the Vietnam War. I was present at 6:00 a.m. one summer morning when the military chartered bus showed up to take him away to another world. When he came back, much later, he gave me a small bronze Buddha which I treasure. He was a man of peace, integrity, and truth. Good fortunes, Jim, on the next leg.

Dear Jane and Family, I am deeply saddened or hear of Jim’s untimely passing. I am thinking of you and your family at this trying time. I had the honor of swearing Jim into office as an Assistant District Attorney and watching him grow into a competent prosecutor who earned the respect of his peers. Jim had many qualities as a man, husband, father and attorney; the one that stood out was his empathy for others. The criminal justice system can be cold but Jim brought warmth and justice to the system. When Jim appeared in my courtroom I knew he had balanced the needs of the public, the victim, and the defendant before making any move.. I am not afraid to admit that I did learn from Jim. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Jim. He was such a talented and amazing guy with a heart of gold! The light he brought into the world will always remain in the hearts of everyone he knew and loved most. He will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on! Dan Anderson

Dear Jane and family. I always respected Jim as real gentleman. He remained calm under pressure and thought things through. I will always appreciate that he hired me at the Sheboygan County DA's office which allowed my family and me to make Sheboygan our home. Faith, hope and love to you.

I am fortunate to have known Jim and Jane as neighbors. Jim’s simplicity and gentle smile made us feel welcomed when we moved across the street. I treasure the trust that they have in us, by letting us know when they were out of town. Jim’s love for the Badgers was very evident when he was able to talk about my son that played on the football team. Jim will be missed dearly; and our prayers are with Jane and family. Rest In Peace
