Welcomed into Heaven on March 17, 2023 at the age of 79 years after a recent battle with cancer.
Son of Minnie and George Kirt of Green Bay, brother to Robert (Rosemary) Kirt, caring father of Joe (Susan) and grandfather of Landon and Luke. Long time companion to Sandie Martin, and a dear friend and colleague of many fellow Wisconsinites.
Born in Sheboygan, WI, Jerry moved to Manitowoc before spending the majority of his childhood in Green Bay, WI. He attended East High School where he competed on the Varsity Basketball and Golf teams before graduating college from Wisconsin State University – Oshkosh with a degree in Business. Later that year, he married Nancy Pfeiffer, followed by a two-year service to his country in the United States Army before being Honorably Discharged. Subsequently, he embarked on a life long career in the banking industry as a C.P.A. with various banks and accounting firms in the Milwaukee area.
After retirement, he took on a new full-time role as a self-proclaimed “quality control analyst” for Hershey’s chocolate, sampling chocolate all across the United States, Europe and the Pacific. Enjoying his post retirement travels he also collected magnets from around the world. In between trips, he found time to attend various NASCAR events along with Brewers, Bucks and Packer games, sometimes electing to view sporting events from the comfort of his recliner instead of live and in person. He loved his network of friends and enjoyed maintaining those relationships over the years. He was always up for a “spirited” conversation regarding current events.
We will miss him dearly as he rejoins his family in Heaven. Love you Dad.
