Age 76, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, entered Eternal Life Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She was born June 9, 1933 in Aurora, Illinois to Burness and Marion (nee Kearns) Adams, the fifth of six children. Jean retired from Sears Roebuck after a long career in sales. Previous to employment at Sears, she was involved in various aspects of the food industry. She waitressed, owned her own restaurant (Jean & Ruthie's Grill) and was the cafeteria manager for the Army at Fort Sheridan. Jean volunteered many, many hours at the New Berlin Food Pantry, often cooking tasty lunches for the other volunteers. Jean was a skilled seamstress and accomplished cook, soups being her specialty. She prided herself as a Social Queen and enjoyed organizing card games, dominoes, dances and informal gatherings, including, but not limited to W.O.W. (Widows or Widowers), and attended church at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in New Berlin and participated in activities and group travels with other members of the parish. She loved to travel, Hawaii being her favorite destination; Las Vegas being a very close second choice. She is survived by her children, Sue (Martin) Davern of Beach Park, Illinois, Charles (Kelly) Ehrhart of Brookfield, Wisconsin and Judy Tischer of Palmyra, Wisconsin; step-children, Don (Faith) Radtke, Ralph (Marianne) Radtke, Beverly (David) Clinkenbeard, Barbara (Mike) Kucharski and Ron Radtke; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen (Jim) Burge; an abundance of nieces and nephews, and a lifetime of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Gerald Ehrhart, and second husband, Leland Radtke; a stepson, Robert Radtke; brothers, Bill, Don and Norm Adams, and a sister, Anne Mary Reines. Visitation at the Funeral Home Wednesday, June 24, 2:00-9:00 PM. Visitation at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Thursday, 9:30-11:00 AM. Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow. "Jean touched the hearts of so many and will be dearly missed by all."
