Born to eternal life on Sunday, August 23rd, at the age of 62. She was the cherished mother of Latanya M. Owens-Davis and Sharonda C. Owens of Milwaukee, WI. Janice was the beloved daughter of the late James L. Owens Sr., and Guyes C. Owens (Oldham). Special sister of James L. Owens Jr., Kamar J. Owens, Stephanie A. Rashada, and Sherelle L. Owens-Gilmore of Milwaukee, WI. Janice was also loved by son-in-law Shuron C. Davis and brother-in-law Stevie Gilmore; grandchildren Cordell Q. Davis, Courtney S. Davis, Cayla A. Owens, Alex E. Burt Jr., Ilee T. Burt all of Milwaukee, WI and Gabriel S. Davis and late Emmanuel J. Davis of Racine, WI. Four nephews, two nieces, and a host of relatives and friends will miss Janice.
The visitation and service will be held at Krause Funeral Home located at 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53222. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM. Service will follow from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Please feel free to join us for a balloon and dove release following the service, which will take place at Krause Funeral Home.
Born in Milwaukee, WI Janice attended Rufus King High School and resided in Milwaukee where she graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College. She later furthered her education by obtaining multiple certificates in the field of banking and financing. Janice went on to have a successful career with US Bank, formerly known as Firstar Bank for 23 years. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where Pastor Archie L. Ivy baptized her April 7th, 1996. Janice was very family-oriented, loyal, and dedicated to those she loved. She retired in 2015 when her oldest daughter became ill with cancer and took on the responsibility of being the caretaker for her and her five grandchildren. Janice enjoyed researching things on the Internet, helping others, sharing knowledge, spending time with her family, watching movies, traveling, gardening, and shopping. She was passionate about her family and contributed a wealth of knowledge to those who were closest to her. Even with her busy schedule, Janice always made time for her family and friends and made sure she made things happen by any means necessary. Janice was resilient, funny, caring, enjoyed life, loving, and was truly loved by many and will be missed deeply.
