He was a Scout Master of Fox Point Lutheran Church Boy Scout Troop #357 for 9 years. He was past master of Garfield Lodge #309 F.&A.M., member of McKinley Lodge #307 F.&A.M., McKinley Chapter #102 R.A.M., Wisconsin Commandery #1 Knights Templar and Tripoli Shrine Arab Patrol. He was a life member and benefactor of the NRA.James Walter Krause was born on March 12, 1929 to William F. Krause, Sr. and Esther (nee Froemming). He attended Clark St. Elementary School, Peckham Junior High School and graduated from Washington High School in 1947. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for 2 years and then graduated from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in 1950 where he received his Funeral Director & Embalmer License.He was drafted into the US Army in August 1951, did his basic training at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii and served in Korea from 1951 to 1953 in Grave Registration, 2nd Division. He received the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge.He worked at Krause Funeral Home from August 1953 until his retirement on July 15, 1994, serving as president from 1963 until 1994.Jim met Louise Burbey in 1955 and they were married in 1956. Their union produced four children, Mark, Gregg, John and Mary. Louise died on September 12, 1994. Jim married Delores Waugus in 1996. They spent 10 years together until her death in 2006.
