Jim passed away at his residence, in the arms of his loving wife, surrounded by his family and his faithful feline Iggie.Jim was born in Racine, WI on January 12, 1964, the son of the late James, Sr. and Maralynn Jones. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Caledonia, Wisconsin. He graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School, class of 1982. On June 25, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, the former Lynn Krahn. Jim was employed by Quad Graphics for over 21 years, working as a computer support specialist. He also worked at Auto Zone, and had his own business, Jones Performance Enterprises, specializing in recreational vehicles and Amsoil products. He could repair anything with a motor.Jim was a member of the Kettle Moraine Riders (Snowmobiler of the Year " 1993/1994). Jim was currently a student in his second year at WCTC enrolled in the Business Management program. He and his family enjoyed traveling, musky fishing and working on and showing their classic cars including his 1970 Plymouth "Cuda, his son's 1968 Dodge Dart and his wife's 2005 Ford Mustang. He was a member of the Wednesday Night Classics Car Club. He had also been a member of the Racine YMCA Boys Choir ; Racine Kiltie Kadets and the Kilts Drum and Bugle Corp. He was a very talented musician playing the guitar, bass guitar, drums and piano. Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn; his sons, Ryan and Daniel; mother, Maralynn Strong; siblings ElWanda (John) Fix, Julie (James) Maiwald, Glen (Sheri) Jones and step-brother Scott (Jane) Strong. He is also survived by his in-laws, Artie and Marlene Krahn and brother-in-law (whom he thought of as a brother), Matthew (Michelle) Krahn and goddaughters Laura Maiwald and Jessica Jones. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, James Jones, Sr. ; step-father, David Strong; paternal grandparents, Glen and Ruth Jones and maternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Wood.Services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Reformation Lutheran Church, S39W32887 Hwy D, Dousman, WI, at 3 PM. Visitation will be held before the service, from 11:30 until 3.Memorials to the family have been suggested.
