Jim was born and raised in Horicon, WI. He was stationed in New York serving in the US Army after high school. He married Sally Sheldon and then returned to West Allis, WI, where he worked for Hanson Glove and Globe Union Battery Division during the early years. He was co-owner of Sally Mann Ceramics and Crafts. He retired in 1976 and moved to Lake Mills, WI, where he worked for Hamlin Inc. After Sally passed in 1996, Jim moved to Watertown and then to Pewaukee, WI. Where ever he went, he was the “Mann about town” and even had business cards printed up with his catch phrase.
Thank you to the staff of Cecelia Place for making him a part of their family for the past 5 years and to the Horizon hospice staff that helped him in his final days.
