On February 18, 2011, Jim sighed his last breath peacefully while waiting for a lung transplant at the age of 59. On February 18, 2011, Jim sighed his last breath peacefully while waiting for a lung transplant at the age of 59. Suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis of the lungs since 2007, Jim fought a valiant and determined battle in recent months. Jim is survived by his wife Carol (Wezyk); sisters Marijo (Mark) Jilek-Perlewitz and Janna (Neil) O'Connell; and niece, Novy O'Connell. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Denis (Sandy) Wezyk, James (Kathy) Wezyk, Thomas (the late Marye) Wezyk, Ronald (Judy) Wezyk and sister-in-law, Rosanne (John) Maybee. Further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Jim was a loyal and longtime employee of WE Energies. His passion for travel took he and his wife to all 50 states and 33 foreign countries. A debt of gratitude is owed to those caring and devoted members of the cardio-pulmonary transplant team, as well as the angels of the MRICU of St. Luke's hospital. A celebration of his well-lived life will be held with a visitation at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22, 4:00-8:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Service of Remembrance at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
