Jim was a friend and a colleague... he was a driving force in the AHEPA Scholarship program, of which I am involved. He was an ideas guy and a mentor to many of us as we worked our way into the role of managing the Scholarship program that he worked so hard to develop.
Jim was a kind and cherished friend to my family, and especially to my father Steve for more than 70 years! I always saw a little bit of Jim in my father, who passed away last fall, and some my dad in Jim. Jim was kind enough to check in on me on several occasions after my father's passing, and we spoke of the scholarship program, and of course basketball. I will miss him dearly.
In a strange way I felt my father's spirit was still among us, in his buddy Jim.
I am guessing he and my dad are now commiserating together somewhere "up there" about basketball and their favorite teams; Gonzaga and Marquette!
