Loving father of Susan (Steve) Nelson and Dr. Mark (Colleen) Boettcher. Proud grandfather of Dr. Stephanie (Dr. Daniel) Hesselson, Christopher (Emily) Nelson, Katie Nelson, Jaclyn (Justin) Feagles, Kellyn (Dr. Stefan) Doerge, Amanda Boettcher, and Grant Boettcher. Proud great-grandfather of Abby, Lilly, Lorelei, and Jack Nelson; Etta and Cora Hesselson; Emma, Ben, and Adelyn Feagles. Devoted big brother and lifelong friend of Betty Ja(y)ne Kirsten. He was happy to be considered a surrogate father and grandfather to many others. Also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, on Sunday, March 13, 2016, 3:00-6:45 PM. Service at 7:00 PM. Entombment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2016. Please meet at the Funeral Home at 9:30 AM for a procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Jack wished that memorials would be sent to Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, Hope House, or HAWS.
Jack grew up in Racine, WI and graduated from Wm. Horlick High School, with the class of 1937. He earned a B.A. degree in Economics, from the University of Wisconsin, in 1941, and spent one year as a post-graduate in law school. Jack was a lifelong Bader fan.
He was hired by Harnischfeger Corporation, in 1945. After 37 years of service, he retired as Senior Vice President in charge of Human Resources, Labor Relations, and Personnel. He proudly served on the Board of Directors of St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, was president of the Franklin Medical Center Board of Directors, and was on the Spiritual Care Advisory Committee for Aurora Chaplains. He opened his own counseling service known as Boettcher and Associates in Bishops Woods.
