Ian Timothy Young, of Arvada, Colorado passed away on Sunday, April 5^th in the year of our Lord 2020 at the age of 25.

Ian was born to parents Timothy and Nancy Young on March 9^th, 1995, in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up as the youngest of two boys in the Milwaukee area until the summer of 2016 when he picked up and moved out to the greater Denver area. After moving to Denver, Ian took up snowboarding, bouldering, and hiking in the mountains. At this time Ian really began to flourish. Ian was a wonderful loving soul who touched a great many people and positively affected a great many lives.

Ian succumbed to complications of an enlarged heart that Sunday, while at home in his apartment in Arvada, CO. He will be sorely missed.

Ian is survived by his father Timothy, his mother Nancy (née Rowland) (Alfred Gomez) and his brother Christopher. He is also survived by his step-sister Olivia Gomez (Kris Vangalis), aunt “Meem” (Mary) Rowland, Peggy & Mike Rice (née Young), Mary & Chris Wackman (née Young), Ann Young, Sean and Kirsten Young, Isabel Kulakowski (née Young), Marty and Valerie Young, and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Roger and Alice Young (née Quinn), William and Dorothy Rowland (née Hansen), his aunt Ellen McCurley, and his cousins Julie McCurley and Dante Sawyer.

A private viewing for immediate family will be scheduled followed by a private cremation.

The “Celebration of Life” service and a wake will be postponed until after the COVID-19 isolation rules have been lifted.

I am just speechless. This so breaks my heart! I will miss Ian coming up from behind and giving me a BIG hug. He would see my husband and I and chat for a while. He was "good people." He always made me smile and feel welcome at Skates. A huge loss to our community. The very best sent to his family. Peace be with you.

Ian was a star that shone through any darkness. He was a brother, not by blood, but you couldn’t tell. I used to frequent Ian’s apartment in Arvada when I lived in Denver. We had some of the best times together! Making food from scratch in his apartment, listening to new dubstep, hiking until we had blisters, singing Irish songs drunk at the top of our lungs, always having that sort of silly fun. Ian also listened to me when I needed someone and ALWAYS pressed me to open up. He had this way of knowing what you needed before you even did. Ian will be missed tremendously, by so many. He was a free spirit and I am blessed to have known such a beautiful soul. Rest In Peace my brother Ian, I love you so much.

We are so sorry to hear of Ian’s passing. We live far away from him, but every time we saw him he was so kind, helpful, funny and just brought an incredible energy. We are thinking of you all, and are sending our love to you.
