Madison. Age 86. Passed away on November 3, 2008, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center, after a reoccurrence of colon cancer. He was born in Fort McKavett, Texas on October 7, 1922, the son of Wallace and Flora Hornsby. He was raised by his grandparents, Maggie and Will Stockton, and had wonderful memories and stories about growing up on his grandparent's ranch in Texas. At seventeen, he joined the Army, served in WWII with the Second Division, and retired in 1960 after 20 years of service. After returning from the war he married Audrey V. Krause, on October 30, 1945. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary just a few months before Audrey passed away. Harold had a second career working for Wisconsin Motors and retired from there at age 62. He enjoyed every day of his retirement and spent his time golfing, fishing and working in his yard. Harold loved his family and was a wonderful father and grandfather. Harold is survived by his daughter Sandra (Harold) Klabunde, grandson Dan Klabunde of Seattle, brother Charles (Patsy) Hornsby of Texas, and sister-in-law Virginia Krause of Milwaukee. We would like to thank the staff at Wynwood Assisted Living, HospiceCare, and The University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for the wonderful care they gave Harold. Visitation at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK FAMILY CENTER, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Saturday, November 8, 10:30AM-12:00 noon. Funeral Service 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, 5395 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, Wisconsin, 53711, would be greatly appreciated. Dad, the world was a better place because you were in it, and now heaven will be a better place, too. You will be missed so much.
