Gretchen Rae Halstead

(Nee Steen) Age 84. Went home to her Lord on Tuesday, September 8th at home under the care of her loving family. Preceded in death by husband Allan, brothers Ronald and Roger, and sister M. Karen. Born in Stanley, WI, growing up in Cornell, WI she enjoyed singing from a young age in church and at many weddings. She married the love of her life and began a family with Allan after his return from the war. They had 5 children, Jane Donaldson (Terry), David (Wendi Klafter), Mary Jakus (Greg), Andrew (Laurel) and Peter. Seven grandchildren, Greg Jakus (Allison), Jamie Svatos (Brian), Theresa Craig, Miriam Halstead Muscoplat (Jon), Rachel Halstead (Brian Painter), Alexander Halstead (Kelly), Paul Halstead (fiancé Callie Muri) and 9 great grandchildren Tre'Vaughn, Jayda and Jayce Craig, Dion (DJ) Bullock, Emma Cyrus, Logan Jakus, Bryson Svatos and Iris Muscoplat.

Memorial service Saturday, September 19th at ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7821 W. Lincoln Ave. Visitation at 9:30 AM. Services at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Milwaukee Lutheran High School Baseball, 9700 W. Grantosa Dr. Milwaukee, WI 53222, are appreciated. The family would like to thank Aurora Hospice and Palliative Care for the support and care she received.
