(Nee Gaveras) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on July 16, 2009, at the hospice unit of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee. (Nee Gaveras) Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on July 16, 2009, at the hospice unit of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee. Her parents, Epaminondas and Stavroula Gaveras, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband John Skodras, sons Dan (Vicki) Skodras and Peter (Sandy) Skodras, 6 grandchildren Nicki, Joe (Brooke), Katrina, Tylor, Jonathan and Alexander, and 2 great – grandchildren Sutton and Ryder. Also surviving are her sisters Ann Kapitz and Midge (Joseph) Wos, and her brother Steve (Dolores) Gaveras, along with many nieces, nephews and their families. Goldie was born on March 14, 1925, in Milwaukee, WI. Goldie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in 1947 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Goldie and John were married on August 30, 1953, in Milwaukee, after John immigrated from Greece. They raised their family and operated their business, "The Cobbler Shop", at Mayfair, in Wauwatosa. Goldie was loved greatly, as evidenced through the display of affection shown by the many family and friends who visited her during her short stay at the hospital and hospice. She will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions in Goldie's name may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Wauwatosa, and the Hospice Unit of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital. Visitation at the Funeral Home Tuesday, July 21, from 4-8PM. Trision 6PM. Visitation also at ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 9400 W. Congress St., Wednesday 9:30-10AM. Funeral Service 10AM. Rev.
