Glenn found everlasting peace in the arms of our Lord on March 20, 2021, while in home hospice care. He was born on April 15, 1930 in Milwaukee to Ervin and Irma Kasdorf. While in his teens he earned the Eagle Scout Award. He enlisted in the US Marines in 1948 and while fighting in the Korean War as a Recon Marine he found himself one of the last Marines off the Chosin Reservoir, earning the Purple Heart for all his frozen extremities along with many wounds suffered during the battle. After receiving an honorable discharge he returned to Milwaukee where he began a 38 year career with the Milwaukee Police Department retiring as Captain from the Youth Aid Bureau. In retirement he volunteered for the DAV driving over 56,000 miles.
He shared a deep appreciation for travel in visiting over 72 countries with his devoted wife, Rona, of 65 years, his loving daughter, Andrea (Dan Bartels) and cherished grandchildren, Pierce and Paige Bartels. His devotion to his family and dear friends, and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle with health issues until he ultimately found peace. He is also survived by his loyal brother-in-law, Clifford Karau, loving niece, Lisa (Bill Eusebio), great-niece Jessica, nephew Scott Karau and many caring friends.
Glenn was a member of Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartland.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 5:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, 53072. Funeral service with military honors at 6:00 PM.
