Gerald R. Howe

Age 87, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, died Sunday May 25, 2014 at Hales Corners Care Center. He was born February 12, 1927, in Darlington, WI, the son of Richard and Julia (Kelly) Howe. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Henderson (DD-785) during WW II. He graduated from the State Teachers College at Platteville with a Bachelor of Science degree and later earned a master's degree from Colorado State University. Jerry taught vocational agriculture at Orfordville, WI before moving to Milwaukee and teaching industrial arts at Hartford Avenue School for 22 years. He married Helen A. Studee on July 1, 1967 in Milwaukee. Jerry was a great story teller and enjoyed traveling the US and Europe with Helen, crosswords, flying his Cessna 150, golf and coffee with his friends after church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen in 2001; four brothers: Joseph, Bernard, Robert, and Lawrence and three sisters: Camilla, Ann and Joyce.

The funeral will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2014 at ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Brookfield. The Rev. Kenneth J. Augustine, will officiate, with burial in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, May 29, 2014 at KRAUSE FUNERAL HOME, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, and from 9:00-9:45 AM Friday at the church.
