Passed away unexpectedly and was born to Eternal Life on April 25, 2023, at age 78. 

Beloved husband of Konstantina “Dina” for 52 years. Loving father of Nikolia “Nicky” (Kosta) Zarmakoupis, Rina (Derek) Pelikan, and Joanna (Dennis) Galanis. Proud Pappou of Kostadina, Vanessa, Evi, George, Spiro, and Melina. Dear brother of Dina Samaras and Zoitsa Karampelas. Also loved by nephews, nieces, other family and friends here and in Greece. 

Georgios, also known as Big George, migrated to the United States 50 years ago, with his wife and 3 month old daughter. After working a couple of factory jobs, George decided to jump right into becoming a business owner. He started his first Greek restaurant called The Grecian Inn on 49th and North Avenue. Within 2 years of being in business, he made Dennis Ghetto’s TOP 25 Restaurants in Milwaukee.  

George and his wife Dina created a beautiful life together. They worked hard and their love for each other transcended into their relationships.  

He was a regal man. Humble. Kind. Straightforward. Gentle, yet stern. He had a way of making everyone and everything feel at ease. From children to adults, to animals. 

He remained in the restaurant business throughout his life and he put all of his passion into it. George loved the hospitality business and he always had a smile on his face, a good story to tell and food to feed you. His greatest purpose in life was to serve others. He had TRUE love for everyone and everyone loved him in return. His spirit will live on in all of us and his memory will be eternal.

Visitation at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 North Wauwatosa Avenue, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:00 AM until time of Service at 12:00 Noon. Procession to Pinelawn.
