Entered into Eternal Life on November 25, 2014 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Susan (Rusch) Fix for 54 year. Devoted father to Lori (Daniel) Solberg, Jennifer (Charles) Determan and James (Lisa) Fix. Fantastic grandpa of Dan and Andrea Solberg, Chaz (Brittany), Eric and Kaitlyn Determan and Justin, Brittany and Brandon Fix. Great-grandpa of Kyson and Jackson. Brother-in-law of Mark A. Rusch Jr. Further survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, George J. and Margaret Fix and his sister, Sylvia Franzen.
George lived his life giving back to so many. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He volunteered for more than 50 years with the Boy Scouts and Badger Boys State (CEO Emeritas) where his mentoring helped shape the lives of countless young men. He also gave of his time to Good Shepherd Trinity Church and Sherman Park Food Pantry. Formerly worked in Admissions at Carroll College, Director of Financial Aid at UW – Milwaukee, Marquette University and Business Manager at Columbia College of Nursing.

The family wants to thank Dr. Frederico Sanchez and his staff, at the Aurora Cancer Center as well as Seasons Hospice, especially Linda, Amy and Rhonda for the extraordinary care and compassion given to George the past few years and weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Three Harbors Boy Scout Council, Badger Boys State Scholarship Fund, Good Shepherd Trinity Church or Sherman Park Food Pantry appreciated.
