(Nee Panagiotopoulos) Passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 30, 2011, age 90. She is survived by her three loving children, Parry (Larry) Lustgarten of Sacramento, CA, Charles J. (Jean) Topetzes of Atlanta, GA, and step-daughter Julie (Alex) Mohler-Topetzes of Whitefish Bay, WI. She is also survived by six loving grandchildren, including Jeff (Sheree) Lustgarten of Patterson, CA, Mark Lustgarten of Sacramento, CA, Andrew R. (Michelle) Topetzes of Columbus, OH, Angela J. Topetzes of Wauwatosa, WI, Lisbon and Beatrice Mohler of Whitefish Bay, WI. She is also survived by two beautiful great-granddaughters, Abigail and Isabella Topetzes of Columbus, OH. In addition, she is survived by sister, Sylvia George and sister-in-law Rose D'Amato Klett. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. Jean was born in Dover, New Hampshire on April 7, 1921, but returned as an infant to her family village of Maniaki, in the prefecture of Messenia, Greece. She returned to the United States in 1931. She was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, James C. "Jimmy" Topetzes and a loving, devoted and proud mother to her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, as was her Greek Orthodox faith. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Father James Dokos at 11:00 AM at the ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH at 9400 West Congress Avenue, Milwaukee on Tuesday, September 6, 2011. A viewing will be held at the Church beginning at 10:30 AM preceding the service. Burial will follow immediately at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to all of the staff at Care-Age Nursing Home of Brookfield for the excellent care and comfort they gave to Jean for the time she resided there and to the excellent hospice staff from Heartland Hospice of Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean's memory to the Annunciation Church.
