Eugenia Agnos passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 89, in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Born to Niko and Anna Papakis in Halkida, Greece on May 17, 1934. She is survived by her loving and adoring husband of 64 years, Peter, whom she married in 1959. They moved their young family of five to the United States in 1966.
Eugenia was a devoted mother to Dino (Vicky), Anna (Yianni) Dovinos, George – deceased (Maggie). Grandchildren: George Dovinos, Evie Dovinos (Christos Peckopoulos), Pano (Sarah) Agnos, Maria Agnos, Gina (Kurt) Buchawiecki, Dimitri Agnos. Great grandchildren: Jonathan, Juliet, Marguerite and George. She leaves behind her brother, Sotiri (Maria) Papakis, her sisters, Maria (John) Ampelioti and Toula (Dimitri) Beligiannis in Greece, and her sister-in-law, Angie Anagnostopoulos.
Eugenia is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Karren Agnos, her brothers George Papakis and Lazaro Papakis, her brothers-in-law, James Agnos, Theodore Anagnostopoulos, George Kostopoulos, Christos Kostopoulos and Angelo Paras, and her sisters-in-law, Vasiliki Paras, Angie Agnos, Mary Kostopoulos and Fotini Kostopoulos.
Eugenia was dearly loved by many, many more nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Eugenia and Peter enjoyed many years of travel, most notably their 22 Cruises together. She was a very talented seamstress, and an exceptional baker. She loved fashionable clothes paired with the perfect shoes…always impeccably dressed. She will be dearly missed here on earth, but soars with the angels in Heaven…
Eugenia’s visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. An additional visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00, AM will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 North Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Eugenia will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
