Esther Ruth Fischer

Esther Ruth (nee Fink) Fischer, age 94, passed away peacefully on December 22. 2020.  She was born in Medford, WI on September 15, 1926 to Frank and Tonea (nee Jahnke) Fink.

Over her lifetime, Esther worked various jobs: a waitress, Globe Union, and several departments at the City of Milwaukee, retiring from her favorite one, the City of Milwaukee Fire Department in 1989. She was proud of her years of service at the Fire Department.  She volunteered for many organizations including Summerfest, Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, and St, Michael’s Hospital. Esther loved to travel, visiting France, Ireland, England, Costa Rica, and other locations around the globe. She also loved music, dance, theater, and getting together with her many friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Shaira (Sherry) Hanif, Dale (Judith) Fischer, Dianne (Bob) Koca, Dennis (Cindy) Fischer; grandchildren: and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fischer; granddaughter, Nicole; brothers: Arnold and Victor; sisters: Grace and Caroline.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53222 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
