I'm extremely grateful to have spent so much time at the Steinbach household in High School and will cherish those memories forever.... even the time we got interrogated in different rooms... Nic, Michaela, and Jeana- I love you all and am so thankful to have spent the time I did with Eric while we had him here.

Dear Jeana, Nic and Michaela, my sincerest condolences for your loss, for Eric's passing. I only knew Eric and all of you through Joanna, and through her, I have had the highest regard for you all. I have read through the many posts and it is so obvious that Eric was a special, unique individual who has touched so many people in a positive way. I know the suddenness of his passing has sent shockwaves through you, to your very core. But what an amazing legacy he has left by his life, the greatest being the three of you. I have walked where you walk Jeana. Joanna has walked where Nic and Michaela walk. My sincere prayers are with you all. It says in Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is near to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." May God hold you close as you walk through these days. And may you lean on each other as you walk through these days.

Our deepest condolences to Jeana, Nic and Michaela. You are in our thoughts and prayer. We will always treasure the great memories of our sons going to High School together and watching sporting events together. We will always remember being over at your house and seeing a video with Nic and Casey jumping off your roof into the pool. The look on Eric's face when he saw this was priceless. Casey always had great things to say about his ski trips with Eric and Nic. He will be greatly missed by anyone that knew him.
Harvey R Levenson left a message on February 27, 2018:
I am absolutely devastated and saddened by Eric’s passing. Eric is idolized and adored at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. One of the reasons that Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Department is a world-class program is because of the influence and wisdom that Eric provided when he served on our Advisory Board. In fact, this year I was going to nominate Eric for induction into Printing Industries of America Benjamin Franklin Honor Society. On a more personal note, our families have a lot in common, and Eric was, and continues to be, a role model for my son who worked for Eric in Merced. He has said many times that when he looks at successful career paths, he looks to Eric Steinbach. Eric’s passing is a loss to humanity. In my opinion Eric epitomized humanism for our industry and society. Harvey R. Levenson Professor Emeritus, Cal Poly

Eric was my first general manager when coming to World Color in 1995. He served as a teacher and a mentor. Although I only worked directly for him for a year, we continued to work for the same company for another 15 years. He always greeted me with a smile and kind words. I look to him as an example of how to earn respect in professional life. My condolences to the family. I hope you take comfort in the fact that Eric left a positive impression on many people, and for that I will be forever grateful. Prayers for you all.

Wallace and I are so saddened to hear of Eric’s passing. We met Eric through our sons - It is easy to tell a good man by his son and we were lucky to get to know Eric through Nic. We were so happy that your family joined us at our Christmas Eve party the last few years in Boulder. We will cherish the brief times we got to spend in Boulder with him. Jeana, Nic and Michaela, our thoughts are with you.

Eric's team of Friends and Co-workers are saddened by this trajic event. And I am one of them that will miss him dearly. We are all praying for the well being of his family, while they are shocked and mourning this sudden death. I am also praying for Eric, as I am sure he leaves us knowing there was so much more to be accomplished, in and outside of work. I want him to know that we will miss him and his guidence, his unwavering direction through some difficult times, and his wealth of knowledge. His legacy of such high character, overwhelmingly positive nature, and his great leadership will live on throughout the print industry. So tough on us all, but, it highlights a brilliant life in which his family can be very proud of ! Prayers are with you!

Eric and I had rode our bicycles together in Wisconsin and he had invited me to join him in Colorado when I was there with a friend riding in the mountains. He invited my friend and I to ride and dinner at his house after, unfortunately this was during the 100 year flooding in the Denver area and Eric had to instead rescue his wife and get to a safe area. He always tried to find time to ride and told me about his trips with his family. Eric and I were avid watchers of professional bike racing and fans of Peter Sagan and Eric had a habit of texting me with results of his racing before I was able to watch them on my DVR, he was the master of the spoiler!!! He had no texting ability of giving a "Spoiler Alert" warning! LOL! Great man, great smile, just a wonderful human and example of how to live life. I always walked away after spending time with Eric just feeling better about life. Ride on Eric! I will miss you! GodSpeed...
