We are heartbroken to announce our mother’s death, Emilia “Milla” Ferreira. Mom peacefully passed away on July 11, 2022, at 93.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was exceptionally devoted to her faith and loved sharing the good news. Mom loved flowers, music, and dancing (we all know she even danced to commercials). Her favorite pastime was playing dominos; if you were lucky and faced her as an opponent, she would say “tu eres tramposo” insinuating you were cheating when in fact, she’d be the one cheating just a tad. (She would hide a ficha in order to not give away as many points or simply because she wanted to use it next round) Good ol’ times.

Emilia is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Juan Ferreira, and six of her seven children; Perfecto, Jose, Lydia, Emily, Jennie, and Nilda. Her eldest son Julio preceded her in death. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mami, you shared your life with us and others, and the joy you brought to us will never end. Though we will miss you dearly, we thank you for being a great mom, a remarkable role model, and an endless source of love.

A family funeral service will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on July 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with a service at 12:00 PM, immediately followed by her burial at 1:45 PM.

We will offer an online viewing option for those unable to attend in person.
