Passed away January 10, 2011. Predeceased by her parents William C. and Elvira Poulsen, who were both born in Denmark, and her sister Mary C. Pedone. She is survived by her husband William L. Passed away January 10, 2011. Predeceased by her parents William C. and Elvira Poulsen, who were both born in Denmark, and her sister Mary C. Pedone. She is survived by her husband William L. Semler, M.D. and her three children, David W. (Bonnie)Semler, Karen L.(Michael) Joyce and Barbara J.(Marko) Bosnjak and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her brother William C. (Marie) Poulsen, their two children, her sister-in-law, Madlyn B. Dobscheutz and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ellen was a world traveler, a natural decorator, very artistic, did many crewel pictures and counted cross stitch pieces and did over 100 paintings of all sizes. She donated her services to "meals on wheels", was a volunteer at St. Michael's Hospital and volunteered at Capitol Drive Lutheran Church with the confirmation program with her three children. Ellen was an avid dancer and she and her husband belonged to two dance clubs. Ellen was a member of the WAC from 1944-1946. She met her husband in Aurora, Colorado, where he was a member of the faculty to train men and women to be medical surgical technicians (practical nurses). Ellen and her husband went out of the country once or twice a year from 1962-2005 and covered North and South America and Europe. Visitation at the Funeral Home, Thursday, January 13, 10-11:45A.M.
