Elisabeth “Betty ” Capelle

Elisabeth “Betty” Capelle passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2024, age 89. Loving Mother of Linda (Stephen) Giacchino, Mary (the late James) Kurth, David (Sabine) Steele, and Scott Steele. Beloved Grandmother of Michael (Jarmila) Uzquiano, Anthony (Karianna) Uzquiano, Kenneth Uzquiano, and Aimee Steele. Affectionate and beloved Great Grandmother of Logan Uzquiano, Ian Uzquiano, and Adelyn Uzquiano. Further survived by other family members and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Capelle.

Betty’s life took her to many parts of the country where she befriended different people. When she returned to Milwaukee, she found her greatest happiness in her family and pets. Betty retired after several years working for Blue Cross. She also cherished her volunteer work with animals, especially at the Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and her support of Wisconsin Chow Chow Rescue. She loved watching game shows and Packers football on TV, visiting the library, and hosting family on holidays.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday, January 30 at 1:00 PM. Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Burial at Valhalla Memorial Park to follow.
