Passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2016, at age 83 surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving dad of Nancy Essers and Craig Thompson. Cherished grandpa of Derek Essers. Brother of Ruby Liedtke and Gilman Thompson. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Selma Thompson, sisters Joan Mode and Lucille Klipp and brother Lowell Thompson.

Visitation on Saturday, October 8^th 2016, at Salem Lutheran Church, 6840 North 107th Street from 11:00AM – 11:45AM with services at 12 Noon. Entombment at Pinelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Salem Lutheran Church.

Edwin proudly served in the US Army in Korea. He was a lifelong learner studying the Bible, History, and Genealogy. Edwin enjoyed cooking and was an avid Packer Fan.
