Earnestine Butler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend transitioned to her new life on August 3, 2024 at the age of 87. She was born on March 13, 1937, in Marked Tree, Arkansas to Gracie Thomas and Earnest Tyler. Earnestine was the youngest and last living of four siblings, Lee Ethel Stennis, Ruby Lee Rand and Clary Washington.
In her early years, Earnestine found love and companionship with her late husband Walter Butler Sr. Together they raised three children: Marilyn Hampton (Wayne) of Milwaukee, WI, Dewayne Tyler of Milwaukee, Darin Tyler of Kansas City and her husband’s three children Walter Butler Jr. (Verna) of San Antonio, Texas, Lucretia Butler of Little Rock, Arkansas and Christopher Butler (Ramonda) of Grandview, Mo. As a mother, Earnestine’s parenting style was characterized by patience, consistency, supportiveness and encouragement. She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother.
Earnestine had the joy of being a grandparent to thirteen grandchildren: Khalia Baker (Shawn), Taylor Hampton, Dominique Addison, Kierra Addison, Diamond Hooper, Dewayne Tyler Jr, Armonte’ Tyler, Demetres Tyler, Olivia Baker, Delaney Hill, Deliney Hill, Pialara Williams and Chanel Tyler. Her role as a grandparent can be described as supportive, encouraging and nurturing. Earnestine made it a priority to attend all special occasions in her grandchildren’s lives such as graduations, weddings and other significant milestones.
Known for her compassionate nature, forgiving spirit, generosity and sense of humor, Earnestine touched the lives of those around her with kindness and laughter. She graduated from high school and spent thirty fulfilling years working as a Dietary Technician in Healthcare at K.U. Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.
A member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. Earnestine was a participant until her relocation to Wisconsin. Her faith played a significant role in her life and provided her with comfort and guidance.
A public Celebration of Life will be held on August 16, 2024 at Northside Church of God, located at 4858 N. 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53209. Visitation will be held at 11:00am followed by Celebration Service at 12:00pm.
Earnestine will be dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her memory lives on in the hearts of those she loved and touched throughout her remarkable life.
