Born May 21, 1925. Born to Eternal Life on October 14, 2015. Devoted husband of the late Jean E. Smith for 58 years. Loving father of Richard Smith, Mary Anthony, Elizabeth Anderson, Kathleen Smith, Timothy Smith, Patrick Smith and Brigid Lagerman. Dear grandfather of Ryan Berard, Brandon Smith, Stacey Hunter, Eric Smith, Michelle Anthony, Brittany Smith, Kelly Anderson, David Anderson, Brigid Smith, Kelsey Lagerman, and Robert Lagerman. Dear step-grandfather of Sommer Walsh, Michael Anderson, Brandon Scott, Carrie Vowels, Robert Scott, Breeana McCombs, and Cody Oleson. Father-in-law of Ruth Smith, the late Michael Anthony, Frank Anderson, Charles Berard, Kim Smith, Karen Uriate, Jenny Smith, Jodi Oleson, and Richard Lagerman. Earl is also survived by special Canadian cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Earl was a founding and lifelong member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1943 and remained involved in the alumni association until his death. "Boiler Earl" was well respected in the industrial heating industry for over 50 years.

Memorial Mass at ST. MARGARET MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3970 N. 92nd St., on Friday, December 11 at 10AM. Memorial Gathering to follow at Krause Funeral Home from 11AM-1PM.
